Substantial Production Increase 

In 2008, the port could up to 32.5 million tons of cargo. It completed 43.5 million tons in 2009. The number came to 55.05 million tons in 2010. The annual average growth surpassed 30% and ranked among the top 20 places.

Rapid Development of Port Industry

The single user wharfs and the automatic facilities stimulate the development of the port industry directly. Presently, the 2-million-ton soybean oil project, which is the biggest port project of the Dandong City being operated, has achieved 1-million-ton productivity. It completed over 5 billion Yuan general income in 2010. In 2011, the general income will surpass 10 billion Yuan, after arriving at the full productivity.

The shipbuilding base began to construction the 50,000-ton-grade building berth and the supporting facilities. It has formed productivity and begun to manufacture the large-scale cutter suction dredges and the tugboats. Presently, it is cooperating with the S. Korea Daewoo Corporation to construct the Dandong Shipbuilding Industry Base and develop the shipbuilding project and the others for promoting the rapid development of the port industry. 

Large Scale Inland Port Has Taken Shape

The inland port projects in 36 cities, including Aershan, Benxi, Tonghua, Mudanjiang, Baicheng, Tongliao, Siping, Jiamusi, Tongjiang, Hegang, Shuangyashan, Heihe, Mohe, Huolinhe, and so on, have been in full swing. Presently, these projects are conducted smoothly. Investment from 0.2 billion Yuan to 0.3 billion Yuan was invested in each project. It will develop the sea-sea and rail-sea combined transport, and construct the long-distance inland ports in the domestic and international ports, such as Qingdao, Yantai, Tianjin, Shanghai, Ningbo, Zhangzhou, Zhanjiang, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Singapore, Pyeongtaek, Inchon, Busan, and so on.  

Cooperation

In recent years, the Port of Dandong has achieved notable results in developing negotiation and cooperation with the steel, coal, cereal and the other large enterprises. It has become strategic partner with the Benxi Steel Group Corporation to jointly establish the transit shipment base for the iron ore, the coal and the steels, and explore the coking coal, the iron ore and the other resources in Russia and Mongolia. It has established the large scale ore specialization dock in cooperation with the Shougang Group; constructed the oils berths in cooperation with the Sinopec Group; developed port-coal cooperation with the Longmay Group; established the large scale cereal logistics centre with the SINOGRAIN, the COFCO, the CGLC, the BDH Group, the Bright Diary and the others; established the finished car land-ocean multimodal transport transit shipment base with the Changchun FAW; and developed the large scale logistics, port industry and the others with the Samsung, the SK, and the other large international enterprises.
